VALLI BRESCIANE Falesie/Climbing gardens

The province of Brescia has a lot to offer in terms of rocks and nature: the Adamello with its large granite blocks, the limestone and dolomite walls in the south and center, three lakes, four valleys and an infinite number of small and large walls.
Despite this - perhaps because of the vastness of the area, perhaps also because of the rather secretive Brescians, who say little about themselves - little is known today about the climbing walls of the mountains in the Camuno, Trompia, Sabbia and Garda valleys. Although Brescia was one of the areas where the free climbing revolution first emerged in Italy in the 1980s (Monte Maddalena and the Cava di Virle are home to some of the first free climbing 8a routes in Italy), many climbing gardens in the province are almost exclusively run by locals.
The only exception is the Valle dell'Opol on Lake Iseo, which attracts climbing fans from all over Europe. However, the other climbing gardens in the province also impress with their interesting routes and fantastic ambience, even if they are now only populated by local climbers, lizards, birds of prey and dormice.
This guide - unfortunately not yet all-inclusive - is an invitation to explore the mountains of Brescia and their walls, because behind the industry of the valley floor are hidden fantastic natural landscapes and crags that have a lot to offer for beginners and experts alike.
