This rock climbing guidebook for Mallorca describes a wide selection of the bolted sport routes and the Deep Water Soloing (DWS) to be found on the island of Mallorca. This rock climbing guidebook for Mallorca is split into 2 sections.
The first section describes nearly 1,500 sport routes across a wide range of grades, from F3 to F9a+. In total 34 separate sport climbing areas are described that are spread across the whole of the island. The majority of the sport crags are in the north and west of the island and include Puig de Garrafa, S’estret, Sa Gubia, Caimari, and Fraguel amongst others.
The second section describes the World Class Deep Water Soloing (DWS) found in Mallorca. In total 16 separate areas are described and include nearly 400 routes. These crags are generally located in the south of the island and include Cala Serena, Porto Cristo and Cala Barques amongst others.
At the start of each area there is a good overall description detailing the style of climbing to be found. In addition there is a good location map, and information on the weather conditions to be expected. All the routes are illustrated on full colour photo-topos with French sport grades used throughout. In addition for the Deep Water Soloing routes S grades are also given.
Published by Rockfax in January 2016 this guidebook includes 5 major new sport crags and 4 new Deep Water Soloing crags when compared to the old 2011 guidebook. Published in English text throughout, though the general introduction section is in Spanish and German text as well.
